Freehand Art Supply is a small, independently owned art supply and gift shop in Fishtown, Philadelphia. We specialize in art supplies for hobbyists and professionals, with a curated inventory of products that you might not see everywhere else. Our offerings include handmade, environmentally-friendly products, gifts and supplies for kids and grown-ups, and staples for art students and studio professionals. We consider ourselves a part of the rich Philadelphia arts community, and want to give back to the people that have inspired us for years. Come on by!

Our Origin

Freehand Supply grew out of friendship, loss, and a shared love of art. Co-founders Kim Quinn and Russell Edling — both longtime designers — started dreaming up the shop during the pandemic, when creativity and community felt more important than ever. After months of planning over coffee at Milkcrate Cafe and a few detours along the way, they opened Freehand on Girard Avenue: a place where artists and neighbors can reconnect, make things by hand, and be inspired together.
