Meet your teacher

Lorraine Felker has been working with fibers in some form since she learned to knit from her grandmother when she was 10 years old.  Over the years, she added basketweaving, spinning, weaving, felting and dyeing to her repertoire of fiber arts skills.

She enjoys experimenting with a variety of materials, techniques and styles across the fiber arts. Lorraine often applies felting, knitting, weaving and basketry skills and materials interchangeably.  She uses natural dyes, often from plants in her garden and wildflower fields, to dye her hand-spun yarns.

Since it’s inception in 2012, Lorraine has been teaching a wide variety of fiber-related classes at the Walk In Art Center, Schuylkill Haven, where she also runs a fiber-arts open studio program.
